Step-by-Step Procedure for organizing lobbying services for a client seeking support from the U.S. government and/or lawmakers:
Initial Information Gathering: We collect comprehensive information about the potential Client (the "Client"), including their background, the nature of their organization (individual, company, institution, or government), and the specific objectives they seek to achieve through lobbying efforts.
Feasibility Analysis: We analyze the information provided to assess the viability of achieving the Client's objectives with our participation. This includes reviewing relevant political, legal, and institutional contexts to determine any potential challenges or opportunities.
Preliminary Communication: We conduct initial discussions with the Client to clarify expectations, define the scope of services, and consider financial arrangements. At this stage, we provide a preliminary estimate of service costs based on the complexity and scale of the engagement.
Draft Agreement Submission: Our team prepares and submits a draft service agreement for the Client's review and feedback. The draft outlines the proposed scope of work, delineates each party's responsibilities, lists expected deliverables, sets forth a timeline, and specifies terms of cooperation (including fees and payment schedules).
In-Person Strategic Planning Meeting: We organize a strategic meeting between the Client and the lead lobbyist to finalize and approve the action plan. Ideally, this meeting takes place in person (schedule permitting). Alternatively, it can be held at a location of the Client's choosing (or virtually), provided the Client has made an initial retainer payment to demonstrate commitment. During this meeting, we refine the lobbying strategy, confirm key targets (agencies, legislators, etc.), and align on messaging and tactics.
Commencement of Lobbying Activities: Upon agreement and approval of the action plan, we formally commence execution of the lobbying engagement. Our team begins the outreach and advocacy activities in accordance with the terms and milestones outlined in the signed agreement and the approved action plan. We maintain ongoing communication with the Client, providing regular updates on progress, and remain flexible to adjust tactics as needed based on real-time developments.
This structured approach ensures transparency and strategic focus from the outset of the lobbying campaign through to its execution, aligning our efforts closely with the Client's goals and the realities of the policy environment.
